Global Satellite Engineering at IPC2015

An inside look at this year’s Iridium Partner Conference.

Global Satellite Engineering, a global leading provider of customized engineering solutions showcased their products and services this month, at the Iridium Partner Conference. A must-attend event in the Satellite industry, IPC draws partners from all across the globe to come together and connect. The three-day event took place in Miami Beach at the renowned hotel, Fountainbleau on February 9-11.

Key note speakers CEO Matt Desch and the Iridium executive team kicked off the conference as they outlined key successes from 2014, as well as insights into how Iridium will continuously develop communication solutions in 2015. The conference also brought along a great variety of vertical-based interactive breakout sessions with industry experts.

A key focus at this year’s sessions was the Iridium NEXT, Iridium’s second-generation global satellite constellation. Scheduled to begin launching in 2015, Iridium NEXT will maintain the current 66 cross-linked Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that cover the globe from pole to pole. Iridium NEXT will significantly enhance Iridium's ability to meet the rapidly-expanding demand for truly global mobile communications on land, at sea and skies.

Faithful exhibitors since 2004, GSE made its presence known at this year’s event at the exhibitor hall, which featured over 40 booths from companies world-wide. With more than 400 attendees representing 145 of Iridium partners, the GSE team had a great time engaging with new satellite professionals and reconnecting with old friends.

GSE team members exhibited the capabilities of the company’s core products, GSatTrack, SatCollect, MCG101 and the GSatMicro. The GSatMicro, made its return to IPC at its infamous levitating stand, after debuting at last year’s Iridium Partner Conference in San Antonio. IPC2014 introduced the market to the smallest self-contained Iridium satellite tracker in the world, the GSatMicro. This compact unit transmits positions, SOS alerts and other specialized information through its industry-leading satellite, antenna and electronics technology to be monitored and analyzed in real time. Configuration capabilities enable the support of any asset and type of information, allowing the GSatMicro to be used in many different applications.
