GSatTrack Android Mobile Update Live in App Store
GSE has committed a new version of its GSatTrack Mobile application for Android users. The primary reason for the new release is enhanced user security for a number of clients, as well as the introduction of a new suite of features. GSE recommends that all Android users upgrade to the newest version of the app if they haven’t already. iOS versions of the application remain the same.
The security measures taken into consideration in this update include removal of the left-most tab that used to display all account assets on a map when the user opened the app. It has been determined that there are a number of situations in which this information could compromise field operatives if the device falls into the wrong hands, so the feature is now relegated solely to the web interface, where it is still fully available to managers.
This update also means that the application is now more focused on its core intended functionality, which is to turn any mobile device into a tracking device. The app now serves to report asset status and location, and to manage messages. The new “Details” tab allows users to see the detailed information of each of the reports sent by the device to the portal.
